Contemporary organisations are beginning to look information as a resource, which produced by information systems. Information could be generated externally by another organisation and could be transmitted electronically via communication networks (LAN, WAN), or could be resident on an internal computerised database system. In theory an information system doesn’t need to be computerised, but a computer machine can often be cost-effective to handle the great volume of data. Electronic Commerce (EC) seems to be everywhere nowadays.
